We had our church picnic on Saturday, July 11. We had delicious grilled chicken quarters with all the fixing including lots of good desserts. Preston sure did a good job as Head Outdoor Cook. Fun, food, fellowship and volleyball was enjoyed by all who attended.
Our Youth Emphasis Services (Y.E.S.) weekend is over but the excitement and wonderful memories linger on. God truly blessed us this year with record attendance of young people and volunteers. The fun began on June 19th with games, crafts, story time, and wonderful fellowship. The weekend concluded on June 21st with a final story time, a special carry in meal, and special program where all the young people participated. The investment and time that was spent by our volunteers will have eternal benefit on our young people.
The men enjoyed their annual camping/fishing trip to Arrowhead State park. The weather was a little cool but perfect for a blazing camp fire. Even though the fish would not cooperate, it was an enjoyable time of fishing, fellowship, and delicious food.
With April being Autism Awareness Month, Free Pilgrim Church set aside Sunday, April 12, 2015 for a special day to honor the children who are coping with this terrible disease. Since the puzzle piece is their symbol, every one was given a cute puzzle ribbon to wear. The church family was requested to wear blue, so the sanctuary was flooded with blue to show our full support to them. We had several parents and children, along with the therapist, who attended this service. Each child with autism was given a special gift. It was a very touching and informing presentation. Bro. Manley and all who took a part did an awesome job.
What a blessing as we rejoiced in our Sunrise Service on April 5th in celebration of our Risen Savior. It was a wonderful service with scripture & prayer which included the renewing of our vows to God around the altar. Following the service a delicious breakfast was served in the Family Life Center.
The 2015 Free Pilgrim Church Marriage Retreat themed “My Marriage Rocks” was a success. Our goal as a church is to do what we can to help our couples strengthen their marriages and walk together through this uneven journey of life. God can help us to have a marriage that rocks!
Sunday, February 15 was a special day at Free Pilgrim Church with the dedication of our newest member, Mr. Alick Glenn Manley, born Thursday, February 12 to Steve and Katy Manley. He is the grandson of Rev. and Mrs. Steven Manley. A great big welcome to Alick. We have already fallen in love with him and are excited to watch him grow and become a part of the church.
