On March 10 the church held its annual Transportation BBQ fundraiser. Some of the families brought to our church by the transportation ministry were on hand to help this year. The fundraiser was a sellout success! We look forward to what God will do with our Transportation Ministry this year.
Someone to care, someone to share! The church lived out its motto Sunday, Dec 17. Free Pilgrim Church’s Christmas Sunday was filled with a play, songs, smiles, food and gifts. The church and transportation youth did an awesome job presenting the play “The Christmas Guest”. The teens joined in for the finale song, “Let It Be Christmas”! Following the program everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and watched in awe as all the smiling young faces opened their christmas gifts. Lastly, the transportation teams delivered meal boxes to each family as they took the happy children home. I think it is safe to say that the givers felt as blessed as the receivers this Christmas!
On Sunday, October 29 a special Fall Party was held for the Youth. A hotdog luncheon was served to begin the festivities. After lunch the children had fun with a scarecrow relay in which they raced to dress 2 men as scarecrows, decorated pumpkin cookies, had face painting and enjoyed a hayride. The festivities concluded with ice-cream and treat bags for each youth to take home, smiling faces proved a great time was had by all!
Free Pilgrim Church added a touch of fun to this crazy time of year by throwing a FANTASTIC Back to School “Bash”!
School Supplies were given, and with games like ‘Beachball Waddle’ many memories were definitely made. Also included were songs from the soon to be students and yummy food. This special event along with the great turnout would not be possible without the help of many who love our church and community. We extend a hearty “Thank-You” to all who made this day possible!
A heartfelt THANK-YOU to all of our Dedicated And Devoted Dads out there! Free Pilgrim Church expressed appreciation by giving a gift for the ‘fix-it and detailing dad’ and left them with a great reminder that “everyday is a fresh start”. Keep up the great job Dads!
We want to thank all who enlisted in Free Pilgrim Church’s “Fighting the Good Fight” Y.E.S. Weekend! Ashley Jarvis led this endeavor with great enthusiasm along with her many volunteer soldiers. Our special teams represented branches of the United States Armed Forces. Each team was taught stories of Biblical heroes, played fun team building games, participated in obstacle course training, and enjoyed hearty snacks in the mess hall. Thanks again to all who answered the call and volunteered to help build soldiers in God’s Army!
Our Church family enjoyed celebrating our Mothers by taking time to say a heartfelt “Thank-You”. Recognition was given to women in all stages of motherhood. Each lady received a small gift from the church and a “Pastry from the Pastor”.
Thank you again for all that you do, and here is to hoping that everyday is a “Happy Mothers Day” for you!!
We would like to say a special thank you to our devoted children’s worship and transportation team’s for working together to create a successful Spring Fling 2017! Most of all we want to praise the Lord for beautiful weather despite the dreary forecast. Spring Fling was a fun-filled day with activities for everyone!
The little guys and gals got to release their creativity by making play doh creatures and enjoyed blowing bubbles!
Many games were played such as:
Free Pilgrim Raceway (watch out!)
Flamingo Ring Toss
Bucket Ball Toss
And located in the shooting gallery were many trying and testing their skills in the art of archery!
The older youth, teens, and even a few adults chipped in to play a lively game of volleyball.
No event is complete without mention of good food! Hot dogs, chips, drinks, and some delicious cookies made up the meal of the day. Spring Fling was so awesome that one little guy expressed how he couldn’t wait for tomorrow so he could come back to church!
Our church family kicked off Easter Sunday Morning with a special Sunrise Service. The Holy Spirit came in a special way and we took time to remember our Lord by way of Communion. After Sunrise Service we gathered to enjoy a delicious breakfast in our family life center. In the main service Pastor Manley’s message title was “A Living Savior” The children’s worship class along with the teens came up after the message to sing a special along with Steven Manley. They did an awesome job of singing “Because He Lives” !!! Special thanks to everyone involved in making this day a success!
This weekend was amazing! Why? Because Free Pilgrim Church just had its 8th Marriage Retreat! Our dear Pastor and his wife put so much heart and preparation into it! The location was set in the ‘Cowboy Up’ cabin tucked away in the hills of Sevierville Tennessee.
The topic of each session was based on having a healthy marriage. Pastor Manley covered what it meant to have healthy ears, eyes, mouths(tongues) and hands in a marriage. The grand highlights were when open discussion broke out between the five couples. It was fulfilling to know your not alone in some of the day to day marriage strength and struggles. There was also lots of fun with games of rivalry and just plain old fashioned comedic flare. And any event is not complete without the scrumptious foods! Baby food bars and peanut butter brownie cups and peanut butter pies were the dessert spread.
Then the highlight of the marriage retreat occurred by a knock on the cabin door. The neighbor informed us that a BEAR had been on the porch! After settling down with that thought a noise was heard on the porch and everyone fled to the door to watch bear digging in the trash on their porch! What a last night at the cabin!
Everything wrapped up Saturday morning with a grateful prayer from pastor and a delectable breakfast at the Apple Barn. Already looking forward to Marriage Retreat 2018 #9!
